Mike Browne can still recall the look on his father’s face as his motorcycle careened off the berm in an explosion of flying dirt and the pungent smoke of the two-stroke engine. That short interaction between a proud father and a determined teenage son at a three state championship motocross race so many years ago succinctly encapsulates Mike Browne’s life and speaks volumes about what makes him tick. Mike has always lived life at full throttle, never quitting, never holding back.

You could see that spirit in the five-year-old who would walk to the motorcycle dealership every day and press his nose against the window staring at the small dirtbike until it was his. You just knew how driven he was from all the race trophies on the mantle shelf, the Golden Glove he earned as a shortstop in the Babe Ruth League all the way to his competitive awards as an AAU bodybuilder. His full-throttle approach was evident when he became the top salesperson at a local fitness center. He later started his own fitness center in his early 20’s, building it into a small chain and thriving enterprise whose profits per square foot were in the top 10% in the nation. After 18 years of success, he sold the company to a business investor.

But for Mike, full throttle doesn’t mean out of control. He’s never been reckless—even when careening across the motocross track at full throttle.
